Daily life is much easier if you have a plan. If you don’t have the money to hire a cook or eat out every day, then it’s best to cook at home. However, it’s hard to get everyone to agree on meals, much less to get them to tell you what they want to eat.
It’s said that people generally rotate the 14 meals from month to month. The specific recipes may change over time, but the number of meals stays the same. So, the best strategy meal planning is to decide on 14 meals your family will accept (good luck getting everyone to be happy at the same time) and try to keep as many of the basic ingredients on hand. This cuts down on the number of trips to the grocery store and hopefully, will cut down on your food bill. And this will lead to a less stressful time at the dinner table.
These recipes below are ones that I use frequently with my family. I have collected them from friends, family, cookbooks – anything that works well for us. I try to rotate some in and out of the basic 14 meals as we get bored or the weather changes.
I will post updates on the home page as recipes are added here.
